Day 4 - Lima - Earthquake in Peru, the group are all fine.

On Wednesday evening at around 18:40 (00:40 UK time) Peru was hit by a earthquake. Early reports say that it registered at least 7.9 on the Richter scale and the epicentre was 90 miles South East of Lima.

I am in direct communication with Sarah Dillon. The LaSER group are all fine and well and they hardly felt it at all! They are currently being hosted by some of the National Council of Lima Guides and they are doing a wonderful job of looking after them.

They have been having a great evening!

Thank you so much for letting us know that they are safe. I heard the news quite early on too and had quite a worried night, but thank you for being so prompt in reassuring us.

To Jess and the rest of the group ... glad you are okay, keep safe and as Gem's mum said, hope you are still able to fly on.

Love Mum, Dad and Jack xxxx

This is such a good way to keep in touch and I am so grateful- but you shattered my illusions.. I thought the girls were reading and writing this.. if they're not writing.. are they reading?

Incidently..is Paddington OK too?

I'm sorry if any illusions are shattered. The information is coming from the group but as they have mentioned before communication is limited, hopefully the girls will see the comments very soon. They are reassured that all parents are aware that they are safe.
As for Paddington... I will wait and see - but imagine he hid for the whole experience and made lots of marmalade sandwiches!

If Paddingotn eats more sandiwches we shall have ot send more marmalade!
